The Gunung Paradise Estate is a fully walled area partly located on a hilltop (210 meters above sea level) in the heart of North Bali. It served as a lookout point for the army during World War II (which can be found army staff maps). From the hilltop, where the mansion, Villa is built, one has a beautiful panoramic view to the Bali Sea, sloping hills with rice fields and one of the two highest mountains of Bali on the background (Batukaru, 2.276 mtr). Besides the mansion the compound comprises a guesthouse, a large swimming pool and a staff- annex service building. A children’s playground and a parking lot complete the facilities. The total area is part of a former mango orchard. Most of the mango trees are more than 50 years old. When this estate was developed (between 2001 and 2006) all trees were saved and the houses were built around them. The open spaces in the compound are cultivated and turned into beautiful and lush tropical gardens. A lot of Frangipani and some exotic palm trees have been planted as part of the creation of a lush tropical garden.
